Lisa Brkich

Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical & Modern

Lisa Brkich is a member of the Russian Ballet Society and the Performing Arts Educators of Canada.  She is the co-founder of Two Sister’s Dance Projects together with her sister Christine Brkich. Her choreographic works have won her acclaim with such awards as the Encore Series Prize for Best Choreography, the OMT Choreographer’s Choice Awards along with the Most Entertaining Show for Kids at the Huronia Arts Festival. Lisa gained recognition as “Excellent Arts Ambassadors of Canada” through the Croatian Arts Council upon touring with her company of dancers in 2008.

Lisa has worked extensively with Elementary and Secondary schools across the GTA, creating tailored musicals and dance classes for the schools and their individual arts programs.  Lisa works with singers and actors daily in the Integrated Arts Program at St. Thomas Aquinas recently bringing students to perform at the Living Arts Centre with her colleagues from the Regional Arts Program.  Currently Lisa is one of the dance teachers in the Arts Program of St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in Brampton where she enjoys nurturing the talents of the dancers together with her teaching colleague Danielle Mucciacito.  This is her fourth year at STA and Lisa enjoys amalgamating dance with other arts collectives such as The Halton Mississauga Youth Orchestra and West End Studio Theatre.  Lisa co-authored the children’s book “The Legwarmers in Plies and Pleases” with her sister Christine and is currently working with Chesler Perlmutter Productions to bring the book to television.  Lisa has had the pleasure of working with Sarah Morrison and her incredible team of vocal teachers and performers who make up the O.C.C. for the past 3 years and is always in awe of the incredible musicianship and professionalism instilled in and executed by the young singers.  She looks forward to another very exciting season with the Oakville Children’s Choir.
